Industry and Fan Panels Each year at EXP Con we invite members of the video game and anime industry to take part in our weekend-long event. These individuals speak on many interesting topics, sign free autographs, and interact with the fans multiple times throughout the weekend. We also encourage attendees to submit Fan driven panels to bring together people who enjoy the same things you do for the weekend. EXP Con Video Game Lounge and CEO X Storm Another popular aspect of EXP Con is the 7,500 square ft EXP Con Video Game Lounge. Growing from last year's 5,000 square ft setup, we will be offering more gaming than ever before. Most of our tournaments will take place on our prominent Tournament Stage while the rest of the room's consoles will be available for free play. This year EXP Con will be teaming up with popular gaming events CEO and Storm to bring you the best gaming experience we've ever had. Come to compete in our tournaments or play casually with other convention attendees. This year EXP Con is offering a Game Room Only pass that gets you into the Video Game Lounge only, for the price of $20 for the weekend. However, we do recommend buying the weekend-long convention pass for $30 at the pre-registration rate to get the most out of your convention experience. Find everything you need to know about the EXP Con Video Game Lounge here. The Con Ends With You DON'T BE SO ZETTA SLOW!!! The Con Ends With You is an interactive game based on the hit Nintendo DS Square-Enix game "The World Ends With You." The length of which, runs throughout the Saturday and Sunday of EXPcon. You must pre-register at Level 50 or above to gain access to this game. Grab a friend or test your luck by making a pact on Saturday because Players will be forced to match wits (in teams of two) with the devious Reapers, and their Noise, in what's known as "The Reaper's Game." Battle Noise and make your way through riddles, as the Reapers do everything in their power to throw you off guard. You, however, aren't thrown into the fray empty handed. Teams will have plenty of chances to earn special Pins that act as both weapon and utilitarian tool. Use them wisely to thwart the Reapers at their own game! Throughout this two day event, players will receive text messages which will lead them through 7 main missions and a handful of "extracurricular" activities. Fail to finish the main missions and surely face your erasure... The only thing you'll need is a phone that can receive text messages. PLEASE be wary of your text message rates as you will receive, in the very least, 7 texts throughout the duration of the event. More information can be found here. Saturday Night Lulz! Live from St. Augustine Florida, its Saturday Night Lulz! The show is a scripted sketch comedy production with Japanese animation and video game themes. The show itself will be a combination of live on-stage skits and pre-recorded videos. Join us Saturday night for non-stop laughter inspired of course by the famous Saturday Night Live sketch comedy show! We will be looking for more talented cosplay actors to be a part of 2010's show. Costume Contest This year marks the 3rd year of the annual EXP Con Costume Contest. This contest is designed to showcase the costume creating and modeling abilities of everyone from novices to the experienced designer. Designers create costumes based on characters from video games, anime, manga, or Japanese culture and are prejudged before the contest. After the judging takes place the costumes will be on display for the whole convention to see on the Main Events stage in a fashion show-like presentation where the winners will be announced. Cosplay Performance Contest This year EXP Con is bringing back the Cosplay Performance Contest. The contest is essentially a talent show where you or a group of friends can showcase a particular talent, skit, or any kind of performance in front of the convention attendees. The winning performances will be awarded by roaring cheers and prizes. The majority of the contestants must perform in costume. For more information regarding contest rules or to find a group for a skit, click here. Miki's Magical Musical Extravaganza Idol Singing Competition! Miki's Magical Musical Extravaganza!!! Come compete in EXPcon's very own singing competition that no one could come up with a name for! 10 final contestants will go head to head in a musical battle to duke it out for awards and the top prizes. For more information click here. Not So Late Night with EXP Con It's not exactly a late night talk show because it's not happening in the late night, but the event is created in that image. We will be throwing our own not-so-late night talk show with EXP Con celebrities and other entertainment you would expect from a Conan O'Brien type talk show. We'll come up with a better description for this later, but you get the idea. Anime Music Video Contest The EXP Con Anime Music Video Contest is an opportunity for everyone, from amateurs to professionals, to showcase their video editing talent! Anime Music Videos or AMV's for short, are videos composed of anime and/or video game footage, set to music, creating a fan made music video. There are different categories and levels (from novice to professional) that you can enter into. Make a video geared towards a certain category or just let your imagination run wild leaving it to the judges to discern the category your video belongs in. Videos will be judged by members of EXP Con staff and the Animebelle.com members AMV critique squad. The videos will be screened and trophies and prizes will be presented the weekend of the convention. For more information regarding the contest click here. Mushroom Kingdom Starlight Ball You are cordially invited to the Mushroom Kingdom's Starlight Ball! Princess Peach is throwing a masquerade in the castle ballroom, and she extends her welcome to all of the attendees of EXPcon 2010. Come and waltz under the light of the twinkling stars, and share a dance with some of your favorite anime and video game characters. To find out more information about this event click here. Power of Underground Dance Party The Power of Underground Dance Party returns this year bigger and better than ever as we will be combining dance music with anime and video game music remixes. This year we will be adding more lights, more sound equipment, and more energy to make this the best late night convention experience ever, maybe. Join us Saturday night just dance the night away. This thing is going to be legit. Opening Ceremonies Opening Ceremonies for the convention sets the tone for the entire weekend so you can bet EXP Con is going to bring out all the stops. We will be premiering a new 'Welcome to the convention' video, welcoming and introducing the guests, and getting the attendees excited for the weekend long event. You definitely do not want to miss the beginning of your EXP Con experience! Closing Ceremonies Closing Ceremonies doesn't have to be a drag. At the end we will finish our epic weekend by tying up loose ends and delving out sending out a deserved thank you to all the attendees and the people that helped make the convention a success. While the end will inevitably come, we will be making a good amount of announcements regarding next year's event(s). Parting is such sweet sorrow. Cosplay Rock Band Showdown The Cosplay Rock Band Showdown is EXP Con's take on the classic "Battle of the Bands" event using the video game Rock Band 2 to "rock out" rather than actual instruments. Bands will come in groups of 4 (Singer, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Drummer) to compete for the Cosplay Rock Band Showdown title and exciting prizes. You will be judged by not only a celebrity guest judging panel, but the fans themselves as you attempt to bring an amazing performance to the EXP Stage! All eyes will be on your band as you perform center stage in our 12,600 sq. ft. Main Events room with sound and lighting effects fit for a true rock band. Of course this is the 'Cosplay" Rock Band Showdown so you must perform in Cosplay attire! Sign-ups will be taken at the convention's registration area, so be sure to show up early and assure your spot in the contest. All Rock Band 1 and Rock Band 2 songs will be available as well as a ton of downloadable content.
